MOSCOW, February 25. The creative evening of People's Artist of RussiaDeputy of the Moscow City Duma, artistic director of the Theater on Malaya Ordynka Evgeniy Gerasimov will take place today at the Central House of Cinematographers. The event is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the actor’s creative activity and his birthday.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the release of the cult film “Guest from the Future,” in which Evgeny Gerasimov played the role of the robot Werther.
“I always dreamed of starring in a fairy tale, and when film director Pavel Arsenov offered me the role of the robot Werther, I agreed without hesitation. And I’m proud to be the first Soviet actor to play a robot in a movie. According to popular publications, our film character is in the top 10 the best reincarnations. The image of our android turned out to be very human. And the audience felt this when they parsed the lines from the film into quotes. For example, the phrases: “Be silent, unidentified object!” or “The booby of the king of heaven!” And in terms of the number of anecdotes, we can even compare them with jokes about Stirlitz «- said the artist.
He noted that family paintings, as before, are very popular. “This is confirmed by the unprecedented box office of the latest releases: “Cheburashka” — over seven billion, “At the Pike’s Command” — about 2.5 billion rubles. I believe that Russian cinema has powerful potential, and the state is opening up new opportunities for breakthrough development and long-term growth,” emphasized Evgeny Gerasimov.

The program of the evening, which begins at 18:00, includes congratulations from leading artists of the Moscow Lenkom theaters» , Vakhtangov, performance of the Igor Krutoy choir, screening of the play “Edith Piaf. Hymn of Love” by the Malaya Ordynka Theater with live performance of hits by French chansonnier.
Among the honorary guests of the event: Alexander Oleshko, Irina Kupchenko, Rodion Gazmanov, Pyotr Tolstoy, Alexander Khinshtein, Vladimir Levkin, Arina Sharapova, Sergei Makhovikov, Viktor Rakov and others.
«In my creative life there were three turning points — when for the first time at the age of 12 I starred in films, when 35 years later I played the main role on the stage of «Lenkom», when I headed the Theater on Malaya Ordynka. Now I have a very busy and tight work schedule, because I am not only a professional deputy, chairman of the Moscow organization of the Union of Cinematographers, artistic director of the theater, but I also go on stage as an artist in two theaters at once in parallel. Very soon the premiere of the play “Wolves and Sheep” will take place, where I will play the role of Chugunov on the stage of the Theater on Malaya Ordynka, «shared Evgeny Gerasimov.
