The head of the State Intelligence Service of Ukraine Budanov called a detached blood clot the cause of Navalny's death
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov (included in the Russian Federation in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring) said that the GUR has data on the circumstances of the death in the Russian colony of Alexei Navalny (also was included by the Russian Federation in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring).
During the briefing, Budanov was asked what he thought about the death of the Russian opposition leader. Budanov responded to this that the cause of Navalny’s death had been named a long time ago.
“I may disappoint you, but from what we know, he died from a detached blood clot,” Budanov said.< /p>
The death of the politician in IK-3 in the village of Kharp was reported by the Federal Penitentiary Service on the afternoon of February 16. In a statement, the department said that the prisoner felt unwell and lost consciousness, and that resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The body of the deceased was not immediately released to relatives, which was motivated by the appointment of examinations, but their results were not publicly announced. Relatives have also not yet stated anything about the immediate cause of death. On the day Navalny's death was announced, the RT television channel said that its sources knew the cause and that «Navalny suffered a blood clot.»
This week, US and EU authorities announced the introduction of new sanctions against Russia , noting that the measures were taken, among other things, because of Navalny’s death. Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov called them “rabid” and "unacceptable" accusations against Russia. He pointed out that «there is no information about the causes of death.» Peskov also commented on the recent assignment of new ranks to a number of heads of the Federal Penitentiary Service, saying that these are “ordinary rotation processes.” Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin stated that “Washington and Brussels are to blame for Navalny’s death.”
