In the model range of the French brand, there has been a compact pickup truck based on the first generation Duster for many years. We decided to imagine what the cargo-passenger version of the third generation crossover could be like.
The budget compact crossover Renault Duster was first introduced at the end of 2009. Initially, it was offered for the European market under the Dacia subsidiary brand, and later a Renault version appeared, the production of which was established in Russia, Brazil, India and Romania. In 2015, the model range was expanded to include a pickup truck, which received the Oroch prefix and was intended for the Brazilian market. Despite two changes in Duster generations, this pickup truck is still produced, having received a shorter name Renault Oroch in 2022 along with the update.

The car has a four-door body that can accommodate five passengers. Its wheelbase has been increased by 155 mm compared to the crossover, and the total length has reached 4.7 meters (the length of the SUV is 4315 mm). The pickup truck shown in the renderings is made using the same principle, which has a longer wheelbase and a significantly increased rear overhang. By the way, in October last year, Renault presented the Niagara concept pickup truck, in which the features of the Oroch model can be discerned. However, visually it still has little in common with the Duster, and we have depicted a more serial version of the future pickup truck.

The third generation Duster was first shown at the end of November last year under the Dacia brand, and a week later photos of the Renault version were published. The crossover moved from the B0 platform to the more modern CMF-B. The basic modification was the Eco-G 100 with a bi-fuel (gasoline and propane) three-cylinder turbo engine 1.0 with a power of 100 hp. paired with «mechanics». The Duster TCe 130 version is a “mild” hybrid and is equipped with a 1.2 TCe petrol turbo engine (130 hp), supplemented by a 48-volt starter-generator. The most powerful Duster is called Hybrid 140, its power plant includes a four-cylinder naturally aspirated 1.6 (94 hp), an electric motor (49 hp), a starter-generator and a modest 1.2 kWh battery, the total output is 140 hp Of all versions, only the “mild hybrid” Duster is equipped with all-wheel drive. The car has lost its diesel engine in the new generation.

Meanwhile, sales of the new compact car started recently the Renault Kardian crossover, which replaced the once popular Sandero Stepway in Russia.
