KAZAN, February 22. Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the construction of a center for scientific research and scaling of Sibur technologies in Kazan via video conference.
The video conference was also attended by the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the first president of Tatarstan, state councilor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev.
Putin gave permission to immerse the first test pile into the foundation of the future center.
The Center for Scientific Research and Technology Scaling of PJSC Sibur Holding is being built in Kazan. Its opening is planned in 2026. The area of the center will be 18 thousand square meters. It is planned that 300 people will work there, of which at least 30% will have academic degrees.
The project is aimed at developing new technologies and promising products for key sectors of the economy, increasing the sustainability of the industry and its technological independence. The center will carry out full cycle developments — from laboratory research to the creation of industrial technologies and their commercialization.
The key areas of the center’s work will include the synthesis and piloting of new products for the development of the company’s existing chains and the creation of fundamentally new materials, advanced modeling and process engineering, development of new technologies, implementation of projects within the framework of decarbonization, circular economy and digital initiatives.
