Police officers and the Russian National Guard conducted a check of “compliance with the law” in one of the “entertainment establishments” in the Sovetsky district of Krasnoyarsk. This was reported in the telegram channel of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As a result of the raid, 12 bar visitors were taken to police department No. 10 “Krasnoyarskoye”, from whom they took explanations and reported to the department
“In total, during the work, the police checked 19 people from among the visitors and staff of the entertainment establishment. Explanations have been received from citizens. Employees of the Drug Control Department of the regional police, using a service dog, checked for the presence of prohibited items and substances,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
The department emphasized that “an investigation is being carried out against the owner of the club regarding the fact of a provocative party.” The check, as follows from the video published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, took place in the Krasnoyarsk queer bar Elton — there had already been a police raid there on New Year’s Eve.
Mash reported that on December 30, security forces took all the men from the establishment to the police — more than 20 people. Judging by the video, a travesty party was taking place in the bar. Elton employees claimed that the police were questioning the detainees about a missing man who visited Elton.
“Guys, remember once and for all, we are not an LGBT bar, we are a cult place to relax with our own show program with with the participation of actors of the original genre! If you don’t like borscht, why do you eat it?” — said in the Elton telegram channel, this message was later deleted.
After the first raid on the bar, a protocol was drawn up about “LGBT propaganda” (Part 1 of Article 6.21 of the Administrative Code). However, on February 19, as Mediazona noted, the case was dismissed due to the lack of an administrative offense.
“Where is your dick «Where are you taking him?» Security forces began raiding closed parties in search of the “international LGBT movement.”
This time, the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, promised to report to the police. “In Krasnoyarsk, the LGBT bar not only did not close, but also held a provocative party on Defender of the Fatherland Day. We will contact the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding this situation,” she said in her Telegram channel. Elton itself announced the events on February 23 and 24 as the “Holiday Marathon of Real Men.”
The founder of the bar, Denis Shilov, wrote that one of the guests of the establishment approached Mizulina. “I would like to remind you that Defender of the Fatherland Day is a public holiday. The guests of our bar are citizens of Russia just like everyone else! <…> Our President, who is well acquainted with history, including the history of fascism, recently said that sexual minorities are not oppressed in our country. It seems that some public figures did not hear these words of the Head of State or ignored them,” Shilov said.
The founder of Elton attached to his post a link to the article “Homosexuality in Nazi Germany” on Wikipedia.
