MOSCOW, February 14, Anastasia Silkina. On Valentine's Day, the third part of one of the most romantic Russian film franchises — «Ice» — will be released. What characters will appear on the screen and whether to expect a continuation — in the material.
A dream by inheritance
After Oleg Trofim and Zhora Kryzhovnikov, Yuri Khmelnitsky sat in the director’s chair of “Ice”. This is his debut in a big movie.

"The previous parts certainly served as a foundation for me. The rules of the world already existed, so I treated them with due reverence,” he emphasizes. — My main task is to tell the story of my favorite characters clearly and clearly, without spoiling or distorting them. I tried not to express myself through completely independent characters. Events, obstacles, circumstances will become new.”
Hockey player Sasha Gorin (Alexander Petrov) is on the screen again. Nadya Jr. (Anna Savranskaya), despite her father’s fears, sees herself as a figure skater. She dreams of the «Ice Cup» — just like her mother once did. And her trainer Irina Shatalina, played by Maria Aronova, helps her.

The matured Nadya meets hockey player Sergei Orlov (Stepan Belozerov), and first love breaks out. The father does not believe in the sincerity of the young man’s feelings and seeks to separate the couple.

Music connected them
There were also musical numbers, already loved by the audience of “Ice.”

"We tried to make this a continuation of the actor’s existence in the frame, saturating them with events. “This is part of history, not decoration,” explains Yuri Khmelnitsky.
It was the music that the new cast member Stepan Belozerov remembered.

"Before filming, I only watched “Ice 2”. The film made an impression on me. I like music. I really liked the number in which little Nadya Gorina, performed by Vita Kornienko, sings the song “They won’t catch us,” he says.
Anna Savranskaya had not seen the previous parts of the film at all before being invited to the project.

“I was called quite urgently for the first auditions. They announced that there would be musical numbers, and this really inspired me — I love everything related to music and dancing! And then I watched «Ice», «Ice 2» and I was even more inspired, of course,” admits the actress.
Get up on skates from scratch
In the frame, viewers will again see Lake Baikal.
Answering a question about computer graphics, the director quotes supervisors: “Magicians don’t reveal their secrets.”

However, people skate for real — even those who have never tried it before.

“There were plenty of difficulties, but the hardest thing, of course, was figure skating,” says Anna Savranskaya. — I grew up in the south, for me winter in Moscow is already a test. Before filming, I was at the skating rink maybe two or three times and skated mostly along the side, so I had to learn from scratch. I trained for four months.»

“When we started working on the film, I was haunted by the feeling that I was an impostor, that I was about to be exposed,” admits Stepan Belozerov. “I was so far from hockey that it seemed to me that everyone could see it. But I trained a lot and eventually got involved.”
Is it worth making a sequel to the ice story? All the heroes believe that it is important to stop in time and the third part will be a wonderful finale to the project.
