MOSCOW, February 26 Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke on the phone, the Russian leader warmly congratulated the head of Turkey on his 70th birthday, the Kremlin press service reports.
«During the telephone conversation, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his 70th birthday -anniversary, noting his high authority in his country and abroad, many years of government activity for the benefit of the Turkish people and, in particular, Turkey’s strengthened position in the international arena,” the message says.
Putin also emphasized the “significant Recep Tayyip Erdogan's personal contribution to the development of friendly Russian-Turkish relations.»
«The mutual commitment to their further comprehensive strengthening was confirmed. It was agreed to continue contacts at various levels,» the message adds.
In addition, a congratulatory telegram was sent to Erdogan.
“You enjoy high prestige among your compatriots and abroad as an experienced and far-sighted politician who does a lot for the socio-economic development of Turkey and the protection of its interests on the world stage. It is difficult to overestimate your many years of personal contribution to strengthening friendly, mutually beneficial relations between our countries,” says the telegram published on the Kremlin website.
Putin noted that the parties will continue constructive dialogue and joint work on current issues of the bilateral, regional and international agenda day.
“I sincerely wish you, dear friend, good health, happiness, prosperity and new successes in government activities,” concluded the Russian president.
