
MOSCOW, February 27 Presidential Press Secretary Russia's Dmitry Peskov, speaking about the fact that cinemas in the Russian Federation have begun to show an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin to American journalist Tucker Carlson, noted that cinemas show what is interesting to viewers.
It was previously reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin's interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson will be shown free of charge at the Lenkom cinema in Vologda, then in Irkutsk.
«Look, cinemas show what attracts viewers, what is in demand by viewers and, naturally, cinemas attract viewers — this is normal practice, and the viewer, in turn, watches what is interesting, what is in demand. This is how we treat it,” Peskov said, answering the question of how the Kremlin evaluates such an initiative.
Carlson came to Moscow in February to interview the Russian leader. It was published on the night of February 9. A significant part of the two-hour conversation is devoted to the Ukrainian conflict and Russia's relations with the United States, NATO and the West. The interview received more than 200 million views on the social network X.
On Tuesday, a representative of the Cinema 5 cinema chain said that the president's message would be shown free of charge in 23 cinemas in 20 cities of Russia, demand is high everywhere. At the same time, people will be allowed into the halls even without a ticket if there are free seats.
