The FAS reported a decrease in egg prices
A downward trend in prices for chicken eggs has emerged in Russia. The head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), Maxim Shaskolsky, informed the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin.
According to the head of the FAS, the decision that allowed Russian regions to quickly take measures in the area of product prices helped stabilize the situation.
Shaskolsky reported that the department regularly monitors pricing for socially important goods. In particular, it uses a mechanism of soft regulation and prevention. This, according to the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, helped stop the rise in price of chicken meat in the second half of 2023.
Earlier, the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergei Dankvert explained the rise in prices for chicken eggs by increased demand for the product.
