MOSCOW, February 28 The reason for the recent disruptions in payments between Russia and China was the intervention of third countries, said Chinese Ambassador to Moscow Zhang Hanhui.
«The disruptions have occurred because some countries are creating problems for us. But I believe that we will find a way to overcome these problems,» he said.
The diplomat noted that the share of the yuan in bilateral payments has already exceeded 90 percent and will continue to grow.
“In addition to yuan, we also resort to payments in national currencies, including rubles. Settlements in national currencies simplify contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries,” added the agency’s interlocutor.
On Last week, Russian media reported that since the beginning of the year, three of China's four largest banks have stopped accepting payments from sanctioned Russian credit institutions. These were Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), China Construction Bank (CCB) and Bank of China. Later, Bank of China stated that they accept payments from Russian companies in both rubles and yuan.
