The Chita Garrison Military Court assigned a year of probation to a participant in the war in Ukraine, Alexander Zinin, who tried to take away the phone from a schoolboy on a trolleybus. The Siberian Express project drew attention to the text of the verdict of January 10.
Zinin was also fined 400 thousand rubles. The war participant admitted his guilt. The court took into account as a mitigating circumstance the fact that he is raising a small child.
According to the prosecution, a man noticed a schoolboy on a trolleybus when he was filming a video message to a classmate on an iPhone 12. During the stop, Zinin snatched the boy’s phone and tried to jump out. The schoolboy managed to grab the attacker by the sleeve of his jacket and held him back. As a result, both fell out of the trolleybus, after which Zinin dropped the phone and walked towards the house.
As Siberian Express notes, in 2020 a man was sentenced to 240 hours of compulsory work in a case of repeated driving while intoxicated (Part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code). In parallel with the case of trying to take a phone from a schoolboy, Zinin was tried for the theft of a circular saw, a grinding machine, a smartphone from his own father, and another theft of a phone (Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code).
