It will be very difficult for Valieva to return, says the honorary president of the FFKKR

VOLOKOLAMSK (Moscow region), February 28, Andrey Simonenko. It will be very difficult for Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva to return to the sport after serving her disqualification, but she really wants this to happen, said Valentin Piseev, honorary president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR).
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on January 29 disqualified Valieva, who won the Beijing Olympics in team competitions, for four years for violating anti-doping rules and annulled her results from December 25, 2021. The period of disqualification starts from the same date.
“»For me, this is a historical figure in figure skating in all respects; there has never been such a leader as Kamila in women’s singles skating, and it’s a shame that this happened to her. I would really like to hope that she will return, but I think it will be very difficult for her to do this. God willing, she is strong, but she has to go through so much now… And her strengths, including moral ones, are also not unlimited. But hope dies last,” said Piseev.
The figure skater can return to competitions from December 24, 2025. During her suspension, she cannot train for public money, but two months before the expiration of her suspension, she will be allowed to resume full training.
