WASHINGTON, Feb. 29. The US Supreme Court has agreed to consider Trump's immunity from prosecution for interference in the US elections, according to a published document.
“»The application for a stay submitted to the chief justice is submitted to him in court. Request by the special prosecutor … is satisfied, limited to the following question: whether the former president enjoys immunity from prosecution for an act allegedly related to official acts while in office,» the released court document states.
It is also indicated that the case will be heard this week effective April 22, 2024.
Previously, Trump asked the Supreme Court to review his immunity in the 2020 election interference case.
Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia District Court previously ruled that Trump is not immune from prosecution in a case involving his alleged involvement in efforts to maintain power despite losing the 2020 US election and the Capitol Hill riots.
