
TOKYO, March 1Japan imposes sanctions against nine individuals and seven companies from Russia, Tinkoff Bank, and also introduces export restrictions for 29 organizations from the Russian Federation, says a press release from the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
A separate paragraph states that sanctions are also imposed against three private individuals “who are considered to be directly involved in the annexation of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol to the Russian Federation, or in the destabilization of the eastern part of Ukraine, as well as persons considered to be directly involved in actions that the Russian Federation calls «inclusion» in relation to the regions of eastern and southern Ukraine.»
In particular, the new sanctions list includes FSUE Atomflot, Balashikha Foundry and Mechanical Plant, Dubna Machine-Building Plant, State Transport Leasing Company JSC, Omsktransmash, NPO Eshelon and others.
Among the individuals included in the sanctions list are the Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic Muslim Khuchiev, General Director of State Transport Leasing Company Evgeniy Ditrikh, Artyom Uss and others. The director of the Artek children's center Konstantin Fedorenko, the rector of Sevastopol State University Vladimir Nechaev and the chief of staff of the regional branch of the Yunarmia public movement in Sevastopol Vladimir Kovalenko are separately listed.
Sanctions are also imposed against Tinkoff Bank. This involves a ban on transactions and freezing of accounts if they are discovered. Sanctions against the bank will come into force on March 31.
In addition, as part of the new sanctions package, export restrictions are introduced for 29 organizations from Russia.
