The most important point of the President's Address
Putin saved the most important thing for the end of his Address to the Federal Assembly. Because as his speech progressed, questions accumulated. They accumulated so much that they began to raise some doubts about what they had heard. But then the president said the main thing, and everything fell into place.
Putin’s announced “plans are huge, steps are fathoms in scope” — this is a truly positive, progressive program for the country’s development. Beautiful Russia of the future healthy person, and not those who appropriated this phrase to themselves. And there wasn’t even a question about money – those hundreds of billions, or even trillions – that, according to the president, would be allocated. Because Russia is the richest country and, thanks to sanctions, those who robbed it by transferring money abroad can no longer do this. Money starts working inside.
But before, we had grandiose plans, and, even taking into account their withdrawal, there was generally enough money, but something didn’t work out all the time…
Why should it work out now?
And Putin explained.
The elite are not those who lined their pockets in the 90s. “The word “elite” has largely discredited itself. The true, real elite are those who serve Russia, workers and warriors who have proven their devotion to Russia,” the president said. The heroes of the special operation must take leading positions in the education system, business, government, and lead regions and enterprises. And it is they who will be entrusted with the country.
This means that those for whom something has not grown together all the time (almost nothing has grown together, except for the swelling of their own wealth) are on their way out. And it would be nice (this is ideal, therefore unlikely) for people to pick them up in uncomfortable government-issued cars.
Veterans and participants in the special operation will be able to receive an education in leading universities as a priority (and I know for certain that they are already receiving ). A special personnel reserve school will be created. And in general, if you carefully analyze the message, you will notice that the planned changes in the education system and youth upbringing are aimed at “nationalizing” future managers.
This is no longer just another course correction in the spirit of how to do this so that the people would live better, and therefore not grumble too much. Putin appears to have launched a “revolution from above”—closing the gap between the aspirations of the “elites” and the people. The elimination of this gap was inexorably required (and would have been caused) by the very course of events after February 2022.
