The American Senate parliamentarians voted against the initiative presented by Senator Rand Paul to refuse sales of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey.
The Republican senator, representing the state of Kentucky, called it a “resolution of disapproval.”
It is known that members of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee refused to submit the draft resolution to a general vote.
Recall that the White House recommended to Congress approve the sale of American F-16 multi-role light fighters and their upgrade kits to Turkey worth more than $20 billion, after the authorities of this country abandoned their objections to Sweden's entry into NATO.
