The Pervomaisky District Court of Kirov sentenced activist Svetlana Marina to one and a half years of forced labor in a criminal case for “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code), which was initiated because of words about Vladlen Tatarsky. This was reported by Idel.Realii.
The state prosecution requested that the 56-year-old Kirov resident be sentenced to two years in a penal colony, and also prohibit her from administering websites for three years.
Marina had previously been fined under a similar administrative article because of a comment about the murdered military commander Vladlen Tatarsky. “It’s a disgrace to display a bandit and a murderer at the monument to war victims. “What kind of cockroaches do people grow in their heads,” she wrote about him.
The reason for the criminal case was a 43-second video published by the Free Kirov telegram channel. On the recording, Marina says that she has not changed her opinion about Tatarsky and calls him a “criminal, murderer and robber” who “did not hide it himself.”
In addition, in May 2023, the activist was fined under another protocol for “discrediting” the army due to a repost made by the Slovo liberala telegram channel. The post included a photograph from the picket in memory of Boris Nemtsov, which took place on February 24 in Kirov, and an anti-war statement by the PARNAS party.
