YEKATERINBURG, March 1 The Yekaterinburg court sentenced a local resident to 4 years in prison for causing serious injuries to a 12-year-old child, the press service of the Sverdlovsk prosecutor's office reported.
According to the department, in May 2023, a man had an argument with a 12-year-old boy on the landing of a house on Rodonitova Street in Yekaterinburg. The day before, a teenager and a classmate teased him, and he, “using a minor excuse,” hit the child several times in the head and body. He punched and kicked, it follows from the release. As a result, the victim suffered a combined injury to the chest and abdomen, a lung contusion and a ruptured spleen. A criminal case was opened for intentionally causing grievous harm to the health of a child.
““The Chkalovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced Pavel Kokushkin, a native of Nizhny Tagil, born in 1976, to 4 years in prison to be served in a general regime correctional colony,” follows from the prosecutor’s office.
It is also noted that the court recovered 700 thousand rubles from the convicted person in favor of the teenager as compensation for moral damage.
