MOSCOW, March 2 The conflict in Ukraine is “our business” “, but NATO cannot participate in it “militarily,” Polish general and former commander of the country’s ground forces Waldemar Skrzypczak told the PAP agency.
“The entry (of troops – ed.) of any NATO member into the territory of Ukraine is tantamount to a full-scale conflict and the beginning of the third world war,” Skrzypczak said, commenting on the words of French President Emmanuel Macron about the possibility of sending Western military personnel to Ukraine.
He expressed surprise at the publicity of the president's statement, pointing out that the discussion on this issue between European leaders took place behind closed doors, so it should not have been discussed openly.
“»The war in Ukraine is, of course, our business, but we We cannot participate militarily in this conflict,” the general said.
Skshipchak added that the situation for Ukraine at the front is becoming increasingly difficult, while Russia has a strategic advantage.
Last Monday, about ten European leaders held a meeting in Paris on the issue of supporting the Kyiv regime. Following its results, Macron said that the issue of sending military personnel to Ukraine was discussed, but consensus could not be reached. He added that France will do everything to prevent Russia “from winning this war.” The next day, the authorities of many European states emphasized that there was no talk of sending military contingents to Ukraine.
President Vladimir Putin, in his message to the Federal Assembly, stated that it is necessary to form a new “world security contour”; Russia is ready for dialogue with all countries. The President emphasized that everything that the West comes up with really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons, and therefore the destruction of civilization as a whole. He also commented on the conversations of European leaders about the possibility of sending NATO troops to Ukraine; this, according to the president, could lead to “tragic” consequences.
