In the Ingush Karabulak, during a counter-terrorist operation, security forces killed six people suspected of intending to commit “terrorist crimes.” Interfax reports this with reference to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC).
“The identities of the bandits have been previously established. According to available data, they were adherents of the international terrorist organization ISIS and were involved in a number of terrorist crimes, including an attack on a traffic police post and the murder of three police officers in March 2023,” the committee added. Three of them were wanted.
“Indicator of trouble.” Security forces are being shot at again in Ingushetia — in a week and a half, three were killed and 11 were wounded.
Fortanga's sources claim that one of those killed is Amirkhan Gurazhev. His name was mentioned among the militants who were put on the wanted list after several shootouts with security forces in Igushetia in the spring of 2023. Then three security forces were killed and 11 more were injured. Four suspects managed to escape, two were killed.
The Baza Telegram channel writes that during a shootout between security forces and militants, a bystander was killed. Three police officers were also injured, two of them received shrapnel wounds, and a 41-year-old Interior Ministry employee was hospitalized with an ear injury, the channel’s authors added. At the same time, the NAC clarified that security forces and civilians were not injured.
On the evening of March 2, the regional operational headquarters announced the introduction of a counter-terrorist operation regime in part of the city of Karabulak in Ingushetia. According to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, “a group of bandits with the intention of committing high-profile crimes” was discovered and blocked in one of the residential buildings.
“The militants blocked in an apartment building, when asked to surrender, opened fire on law enforcement officers,” — An unnamed source in the region’s law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti. It is known that the operation was carried out near Rabochaya, Oskanova, Naberezhnaya and Dzhabagieva streets. Residents of the house in which the suspects were blocked were evacuated to the school gym.
On the morning of March 3, agencies, citing sources, wrote that the counter-terrorism operation was continuing. Closer to 11 am, RIA Novosti's interlocutor spoke about the cessation of shooting. He clarified: “The apartment is being cleared, based on the results of which it will be possible to talk about the number of militants eliminated.”
