A court in Moscow resumed the investigation into the case of Rakova and Zuev

MOSCOW, March 5 The Nikulinsky Court of Moscow resumed the judicial investigation into the case of ex-Deputy Minister of Education Marina Rakova and the former rector of the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic sciences («Shaninka») Sergei Zuev about the theft of 50 million rubles, the correspondent reports.
“Since Inkin’s position is unclear, we will now study it and the forensic psychiatric examination in relation to Rakova, the judicial investigation has been resumed,” said Judge Alexey Bobkov. After that, he announced a 15-minute break to coordinate the defense position with Inkin. In addition, a new prosecutor took over the case.

Other defendants are the vice-rector of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Civil Service under the President of the Russian Federation (RANEPA) Ivan Fedotov, former employees of the Foundation for New Forms of Educational Development (FNFRO) Evgeny Zak and Evgeny Inkin, Shaninka legal adviser Kristina Kryuchkova, Rakova’s common-law husband Artur Stetsenko.

The investigation found that the defendants were engaged in fictitious employment of employees of the Ministry of Education in the structural divisions of RANEPA, and also embezzled budget funds under contracts with Shaninka as part of the implementation of the federal project «Teacher of the Future» of the national project «Education» » in 2019-2020. The total damage from their actions is estimated at 50 million rubles.
As the capital's prosecutor's office reported, the defendants admitted guilt, and «the damage caused by the crimes was partially compensated.» During the investigation, they were released from the pre-trial detention center. Zuev was removed from the post of rector of Shaninka in March 2023.
