A Novosibirsk man who stabbed his ex-girlfriend 17 times was sentenced to 15.5 years in prison; Previously, the girl’s family contacted the police due to threats

The Sovetsky District Court of Novosibirsk sentenced 29-year-old local resident Khushnud Khamroev to 15.5 years in a maximum security colony in the case of the murder of 17-year-old ex-girlfriend Anastasia Rakova. Sibir.Realii drew attention to the message from the press service of the court.

The man was found guilty of five counts of threatening to kill (Part 1 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code), torturing a minor (clause “d” of Part 2 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code) , intimate relationship with a teenager under 16 years of age (Part 134 of the Criminal Code) and murder (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code).

Khamroev attacked Rakova on the evening of July 26, 2022 in one of the districts of Novosibirsk. He stabbed the girl at least 17 times, and she eventually died on the spot. The attacker was detained the next day. According to the security forces, he planned to leave for Tajikistan.

As the girl’s relatives said, before her murder they contacted the police three times because of threats received from Khamroev, but they did not initiate criminal cases against him. Previously, the man was convicted of threatening to kill and causing minor bodily harm.

As a result, the Investigative Committee opened a case of negligence against police officers in the Sovetsky district of the city, but it was closed. The security forces were “reprimanded,” reports Sibir.Realii with reference to the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.
