Bastrykin appealed to the GP because of the court decision in the case of the death of a SVO participant

MOSCOW, March 5 The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, studied the report on the case of causing death by negligence of a member of the SVO in the Chelyabinsk region and turned to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov to check the legality of the court decision, reports the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on the Telegram channel.
According to the Investigative Committee, the man whose actions led to the death of a SVO participant was found guilty under a less serious charge, and he was given a non-custodial sentence. However, he was previously accused of a more serious crime.

«The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia appealed to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation with arguments about the need to verify the legality and validity of the court decision as part of an appeal of the verdict to a higher court» , the department said in a statement.

It is noted that Bastrykin studied the submitted report and, due to the fact that “the man did not receive the punishment he deserved,” turned to the Prosecutor General of Russia.
Earlier, on her VKontakte page, a resident of the Chelyabinsk region, Marina Nikitina, claimed that her husband Maxim Nikitin, who had previously been an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and participated in the SVO, had died. She noted that her husband in the village of Kaolinovy witnessed a conflict between his former classmate and a 19-year-old local resident who practices mixed martial arts: the man grabbed the girl by the hair. According to her, Nikitin decided to help the girl, as a result, during the brawl, the fighter delivered a “targeted blow to Nikitin’s throat”, he fell, hit the back of his head on the paving slabs and lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital, where the man died on September 17 without regaining consciousness. Later, the RF Investigative Committee for the region reported that the court arrested a 19-year-old resident of the Chelyabinsk region.

According to the Kartalin City Court, on March 4 the court announced a verdict — the court limited the freedom of the accused Rustam Baizhumenov for a period of 1 year 6 months, he was released from custody in the courtroom.
The head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Alexander Khinshtein, who also sent an appeal to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation regarding the case of a 19-year-old resident of the Chelyabinsk region, said that at first a criminal case was opened under the article “Causing death by negligence,” but after a public outcry The article was changed to “Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, resulting in the death of the victim through negligence.” However, in the end, the article was replaced with the original one.
