NALCHIK, March 4 A court in Kabardino-Balkaria sentenced a former police officer who was accused of selling and storing drugs to 4.5 years in prison, the prosecutor’s office reported region.
“It was established that an employee of the republic’s internal affairs bodies, for a monetary reward, illegally sold mephedrone to a person acting as a buyer in an operational-search activity,” the report says.
In addition, in March 2023, he purchased heroin for personal use and stored it in his car, where the drug was discovered and seized by law enforcement officers.
“The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment to be served in a maximum security correctional colony,” the prosecutor’s office clarifies.
