The premium brand owned by Nissan has officially confirmed that the new generation model will be offered with a V6 biturbo engine.
Debut teasers of the third-generation serial Infiniti QX80 SUV were distributed a week ago. Now the brand has shared details about the technology, simultaneously publishing fresh footage and highlighting the interior for the first time. Let us remind you that the predecessor has been in service since 2010, and was last updated in 2021. Well, the harbinger of the “third” SUV is last year’s Infiniti QX Monograph concept.
As expected, in the next generation QX80 will lose the naturally aspirated V8 5.6 with the factory designation VK56VD — this engine will be replaced by a petrol biturbo VR35DDT V6 3.5. The output of the new engine in American specification will be 456 hp. and 698 Nm, while the naturally aspirated V8 engine now produces 405 hp. and 560 Nm. And instead of the current seven-speed automatic transmission, a 9-speed automatic transmission will be installed.

As for the design, the appearance of the “third” Infiniti QX80 will largely repeat the QX Monograph concept. So, from the show car, the serial SUV will get two-tier head optics, retractable door handles and rear lights designed in the form of a single die. A full-fledged virtual instrument panel will appear inside, and the steering wheel, apparently, will have touch-sensitive buttons, although physical joysticks will also remain.
