SIRIUS, March 5 Pranksters Vovan (Vladimir Kuznetsov) and Lexus (Alexey Stolyarov) said that the Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, whom they played, was lying when he said that his office had improved protection against pranks and, moreover, “played along” with them for an hour.
Varadkar previously said his office had changed its procedures regarding calls after being pranked by Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus. In a conversation with them in December, he could not explain the difference between the self-determination of Crimea and Kosovo, saying that he did not know Kosovo history and details, but was nevertheless confident that the reunification of Crimea with Russia “went wrong.” Varadkar also said that it took his country 15-20 years to join the EU, and he does not believe Ukraine will join the union soon.
“Words to the wind for the audience that everything is fine with us, we are improving our security policy. But in reality, as these pranks go, they will continue,” Vovan told the agency “on the sidelines” of the World Festival youth in Sirius.
He added that it is hardly possible to change the procedures; they have existed for decades.
«These are simply mistakes, unprofessionalism of employees, including heads of state. The best thing is, if they want to change something, then let the person who became a victim of the prank resign. The best way to become an example of how to exclude yourself of the victims,» Vovan said.
Varadkar also said he «played along» with Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus as he «immediately» became suspicious about the nature of the call.
«It’s wonderful that the prime minister has so much time, a whole hour, to play along with us. Very playful, like everyone else. Maybe the prime minister really has nothing to do at all, let him go out to some chat roulette and communicate with everyone. I’m sure that everything is fine in his country,” Vovan commented.
According to prankster Lexus, Western politicians are unlikely to become “inaccessible” for pranks in the near future.
“I doubt that this can happen, because no one can create some kind of ultra-secure network that is universal. We will look for new loopholes one way or another,” he believes.
When asked whether Vovan and Lexus expect to create a kind of “protection service against pranksters,” they answered in the affirmative. “Yes, we are expecting it. We will lead it ourselves. Let them pay the money,” said the pranksters.
