MOSCOW, March 5 The Association of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia asks the Russian authorities to establish a 20% quota for Russian wine in stores from September 1 with a further increase and 50% — for restaurants and cafes, said AVVR executive secretary Alexey Plotnikov.
According to him, the association decided to once again appeal to the government and the State Duma with a request to strengthen measures to protect the Russian market and send its position to the Cabinet of Ministers.
«(Position — ed.) on establishing the obligation of organizations engaged in the retail sale of alcoholic beverages from September 1, 2024 to have in their assortment at least 20% of wines, sparkling wines, fortified wines produced on the territory of the Russian Federation, with an increase in the medium term, the specified share will be increased to 50% as a target value,” Plotnikov said.
