KEMEROVO, March 7 The Kuzbass housing and communal services emergency response team went to eliminate the emergency in Tuva, reports the press service of the regional government.
“By order of the governor of Kuzbass, an emergency recovery team of housing and communal services consisting of 14 people was sent to help Tyva specialists. Our utility workers will work to eliminate the emergency at the thermal power plant in the city of Shagonar in the Republic of Tyva, where an explosion and fire occurred the day before,” the message says.
On Wednesday, in the three-story building of the central boiler house of the Shagonar CHPP, a coal dust explosion occurred in the fuel supply room, causing a fire over an area of 50 square meters. 23 people were injured, 15 were hospitalized. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations sent equipment to the region to restore heat supply and heat socially significant facilities. On Thursday, the first boiler of the emergency thermal power plant was launched, two more are being prepared for launch, equipment is expected from Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Moscow and other cities. Eight victims are being evacuated from Kyzyl to Krasnoyarsk by a special flight of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, who will be taken for treatment to the burn center of the regional clinical hospital. One victim has been discharged, six people continue treatment in the republican hospital.
“In Tyva, the whole city was left without heat, 23 employees of the thermal power plant were injured from the explosion. We were one of the first to promptly send a convoy of cars, accompanied by the traffic police, to the emergency site. We are transporting two heating plants of 2 megawatts each. Our emergency teams are on their way, equipped with all the necessary consumables and tools to quickly provide residential buildings with heat. Cars from Kuzbass are already at the entrance to the republic,» the press service quotes Sergei Tsivilev.
A letter from Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Tyva Vitaly Bartyn-Sada to the governor of Kuzbass states that the man-made accident led to a complete shutdown of heat-generating boilers. As a result, 210 residential buildings were left without central heating; more than 5 thousand people live in them, 3,150 of whom are children. To provide the population in the emergency zone with heat, the government of Tyva asked for help in providing additional diesel generator sets, heat guns and mobile heating stations.

It is specified that the emergency restoration team of the housing and communal services of Kuzbass includes 14 specialists (mechanics, electric and gas welders, drivers ) and 4 units of equipment (2 trawls with mobile boiler rooms, 2 auto repair shops). In Shagonar, they will provide heat supply to the population and social facilities for the period of repair and restoration work at the Shagonar CHPP. To quickly connect objects to mobile boiler rooms, they are equipped with flexible hoses.
