«During the week from February 27 to March 4, 2024, inflation in the consumer market slowed to 0.09%; the year-on-year price growth rate was 7.59%,» the review says.
The authors of the review note that in the food products segment, the rate of price growth slowed to 0.09% against the background of a decrease in the cost of fruits and vegetables by 0.5%. “The decline in prices for cucumbers accelerated, prices for potatoes continued to decline, and the rise in prices for tomatoes and borscht vegetables slowed down. For other food products, the rate of price growth remained almost at the level of last week (0.14%),” they write.
Among non-food products, inflation was 0.07% — prices for passenger cars remained virtually unchanged, and the cost of electrical and household appliances decreased by 0.4%. As for regulated, tourist and personal services, price growth slowed to 0.04% amid a decrease in the cost of air tickets for domestic flights.
