
MOSCOW, March 5People's Artist of Ukraine Valery Yurchenko passed away at the age of 80, the press service of the Crimean Academic Theater named after Maxim Gorky reported.
«Today we received sad news — People's Artist of Ukraine Valery Ivanovich Yurchenko passed away at the age of 81,» says a message on the theater's website.
It is specified that the actor died on February 19. The theater noted that Yurchenko’s acting personality was “extraordinarily bright; during the years of his service to Melpomene, he created dozens of diverse images of classical drama and plays by modern authors.” “Valery Ivanovich Yurchenko was harmonious in the fusion of grotesque and tragedy, lyricism and sarcasm. And his works will forever remain in the memory of grateful viewers,” the theater concluded.
Valery Yurchenko was born in the Primorsky Territory, graduated from GITIS, served in the Petrozavodsk Russian Theater, since 1989 — in the Sevastopol Russian Drama Theater named after Lunacharsky, then — in the Crimean Russian Drama Theater named after Gorky. He starred in the films “Battle for Moscow”, “Two Comrades” and others.
