SIRIUS, March 6 Cosmonauts and astronauts from different countries on the International Space Station are up to date with all world news , but they prefer not to discuss them among themselves, so as not to quarrel, said Russian cosmonaut Sergei Prokopyev.
«We have never quarreled for political reasons. We understand that we can discuss and quarrel as much as we want, the world picture will not change because of this, but relations between people will. Therefore, we tried to avoid such acute moments,» he said Prokopiev at the “Knowledge.First” marathon as part of the World Youth Festival.
He emphasized that the station’s crews do not lose contact with the Earth and world news is available to them. From aboard the ISS, the borders of countries are not visible, so the Earth does not seem to cosmonauts and astronauts to be “divided for political reasons,” Prokopyev noted.
The World Youth Festival takes place from March 1 to 7 in the federal territory of Sirius by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The organizer of the festival is Rosmolodezh.
