KRASNODAR, March 7 President Vladimir Putin arrived in Krasnodar, the correspondent reports.
The head of state is expected to visit the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School.
The school traces its history back to August 19, 1938, with the creation of a military pilot school in Chita. In 1960 he was relocated to Krasnodar. Now the school trains flight personnel for operational-tactical, long-range, military transport and naval aviation. In total, it graduated more than 27 thousand aviation specialists, of which over 18 thousand were pilots. Among the graduates are five twice heroes of the Soviet Union, 137 heroes of the Soviet Union, eight cosmonaut pilots, 23 test pilots, and nine heroes of Russia. Since 2017, the school has been accepting female cadets for training.
The day before, Putin worked at his Sochi residence Bocharov Ruchei, where he received the head of the IAEA Rafael Grosia and Rosatom General Director Alexei Likhachev, and also held a meeting on the development of southern Russia and the Azov region. In the evening, the President visited the site of the World Youth Festival, spoke at the closing ceremony and talked with the participants.
