KRASNODAR, March 7Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a special military operation and economic development are the most important for him in work matters.
“Of course, just like for the country as a whole, and for me, and for you, I think all the brightest, most significant things happened on the battlefield in the zone of a special military operation. Then, of course, there are a lot of questions related to economy: with its maintenance, with development, with ensuring the rate of economic growth,” he said during a meeting with graduates of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School in response to the question what event in 2023 was the most striking and memorable for him.
Putin emphasized that economic development “is the basis on which everything is built, our whole life.”
“Both social life and our military successes are based on basic indicators in the economy, in the real sector,” added the Russian President.
Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to abuse and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.” He noted that the special operation was a forced measure, Russia “was left no chance to do otherwise, security risks were created such that it was impossible to respond by other means.” According to him, Russia has been trying for 30 years to come to an agreement with NATO on the principles of security in Europe, but in response it has been faced with either cynical deception and lies, or attempts at pressure and blackmail, while the alliance, meanwhile, despite Moscow’s protests, is steadily expanding and approaching borders of the Russian Federation.
