MOSCOW, March 8 Ukrainian companies do not have permission to repair the barrels of American M777 howitzers in accordance with US export laws, Foreign Policy magazine reports.
“Ukrainian companies do not have permission under American export laws to repair the barrels of American M777 howitzers,” the publication said.
It is noted that these companies may try to make copies of them, but then they will face the risk of violating intellectual property rights.
At the same time, experts cannot go to the front lines and help with the repair of American equipment due to restrictions on the movement of American diplomats without permission from the White House, which also applies to contractors.
Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine interfere with the settlement, directly involve NATO countries in the conflict and are “playing with fire.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. According to him, the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries. The Kremlin stated that pumping Ukraine up with weapons from the West does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative effect.
