WARSAW, March 8 The Polish Sejm adopted a resolution imposing an embargo on the import of agricultural and food products from Russia and Belarus.
At a meeting on Friday, a resolution was adopted calling on the European Commission to impose an embargo on the import of agricultural and food products from Russia and Belarus. This resolution was supported by all parliamentary factions.
The Sejm in its resolution notes that imports of agricultural products from Russia and Belarus “continue to bring huge income to producers, traders and the budgets of these countries.” The document declared a “moral obligation” to stop trade that could directly or indirectly contribute to the strengthening of Russia and its supporting Belarus in light of the conflict in Ukraine.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that it is the West that is responsible for the destruction of global food security, despite accusations from Washington about Russia’s imaginary responsibility in this matter.
