Kupyansk in the Kharkov region of Ukraine late in the evening of March 7 came under Russian fire. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Oleg Sinegubov.
According to Snegubov, as a result of shelling from multiple launch rocket systems, a 64-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man were killed.
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine reported that on March 8 at about 00:05 the Russian army launched a missile attack on the center of the city of Chuguev. Seven people were injured: a 16-year-old young man, a three-year-old girl, four men and a 41-year-old woman, writes Sinegubov.
In Chuguev, a nine-story residential building, the façade of a shopping center, a bank, a store, a hotel, as well as 13 cars were damaged.
In total, 18 settlements in the Kharkov region came under mortar and artillery fire, including Basovo, Tabaevka, Golubovka, Kazachya Lopan and the city of Volchansk.
The strike on Volchansk, according to the head of the Kharkov administration, was carried out by a controlled aerial bomb. “At least 12 private residential buildings were damaged. A 40-year-old civilian woman died as a result of a direct hit on a private house. A 67-year-old woman received mild injuries without hospitalization,” Sinegubov said.
The Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in the morning that the air defense managed to shoot down 33 of 37 drones in the Kirovograd region, Odessa, Kherson, Nikolaev and Kharkov regions. As a result of the attack in the Odessa region, an infrastructure facility was damaged, the buildings of which were “mothballed for a long time.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that at night and in the morning air defense systems shot down 16 drones: one over the Belgorod region, the rest over the Volgograd region. No casualties or damage were reported.
