BELGOROD, March 8 Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian army attacked five districts of the Belgorod region about 10 times with the help of drones, two civilians were injured, said the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in the Telegram channel.
According to the governor, on March 7, the Ukrainian military fired 33 shells in the Grayvoronsky district, including four explosive devices from drones. In addition, four more municipalities in the region were attacked; seven drone attacks were recorded, some of them shot down by air defense systems. Two men were injured, one of them was hospitalized, the second was treated on the spot.
«In the Grayvoronsky urban district, 10 mortar shells were fired at the village of Kozinka, five of which hit the outskirts of the village. There is a victim — a man has shrapnel wounds to his lower limb. All necessary medical care was provided by doctors from the Central District Hospital; the man refused hospitalization. He was damaged in a private residential building barn. Also in Kozinka, a UAV dropped two explosive devices on a private residential building… Another enemy drone fell into the garden of one of the private households — employees of the Russian Ministry of Defense neutralized the explosive device,» Gladkov wrote.
He added that a total of 12 mortar shells were fired at the outskirts of the villages of Novostroevka-Vtoraya, Dronovka and Bezymeno. In the village of Novostroevka-Pervaya, two explosive devices were dropped from a quadcopter, after which the quadcopter was shot down in the air. The roof of the warehouse was damaged. The village of Poroz was shelled seven times with a grenade launcher, and a shopping facility was slightly damaged. An aircraft-type drone was shot down by an air defense system over the village of Golovchino.
In the Belgorod region, according to the head of the region, the village of Naumovka was attacked with the help of a kamikaze drone, a civilian was injured. Now the victim is in hospital No. 2 in the city of Belgorod, Gladkov clarified. In Belgorod, two drones attacked the building of a commercial organization.
«In the Novooskolsky urban district, near the village of Sharapovka, an aircraft-type UAV was shot down by air defense. There were no casualties or damage. In the Yakovlevsky urban district, near the village of Ozerovo, an aircraft-type UAV was shot down by an air defense system,» the governor noted.
A high (yellow) level of terrorist danger has been established throughout the Belgorod region since April 11, 2022. The need to introduce a regime is caused by the aggravation of the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border and the increased activity of the Ukrainian military in the border areas. The length of the Ukrainian border with the Belgorod region is 350 kilometers.
