A murder is being investigated in Kamchatka after the body of a newborn is discovered at a landfill
The Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Kamchatka Territory opened a criminal case after the discovery of the corpse of a newborn at a landfill. This was reported by the department's press service.
The emergency occurred on March 6. On this day, while sorting garbage at the city waste disposal site, workers came across the body of a newborn boy. It was in a bundle they made of sheets. Presumably, the child could have died during a home birth, after which the mother tried to get rid of the body.
Similar tragedies have already occurred in Kamchatka. In January 2014, a dead baby was buried in the courtyard of a house in the Elizovsky district. In the summer of 2016, the remains of a newborn were found in a flower bed of a kindergarten in the village of Dalniy.
Investigators examined the site of the current emergency and ordered a number of examinations. They ask residents of the region to report if they have any information on this crime.
