American billionaire Chao died tragically after driving a Tesla car into a pond
Heir to a large shipping company company, 50-year-old Angela Chao died tragically in Texas. This happened a month ago, but the circumstances of the death became known only now, writes Bild.
As it turned out, on February 10, the entrepreneur went to Texas with her friends. There they rented a ranch, which is almost three times larger in area than Central Park in New York.
After dinner, Chao decided to drive to her son’s main house in her Tesla Model X. The walk was four minutes, but it was pretty cold outside.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Chao tried to turn around, but she backed out too far and fell into a pond with her car. The car began to sink, Chao called her friends in panic.
Rescuers arrived at the scene 24 minutes later, but by that time the Tesla had already completely sunk. The requested diving team did not arrive for unknown reasons, and an attempt to pull the car out of the pond failed due to a short tow rope. When the car was finally pulled out of the water, Angela Chao was already dead.
