MOSCOW, March 9 Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the creation of three new special economic zones (SEZs) in Mordovia, Rostov and Tver regions, the Cabinet of Ministers website reported .
«
“Work continues on the formation of territories with special conditions for doing business,” the government press service emphasized.
They added that in such zones investors will be able to implement economically important projects on preferential terms.
The new SEZ «Sistema» will be located in Saransk and on the territory of the Lyambirsky municipal district in Mordovia. Another new SEZ — «Rostov» — will be created in Novocherkassk. The third new SEZ «Emmauss» will appear in the Kalininsky and Konakovsky municipal districts of the Tver region.
Industrial enterprises will operate in all created special economic zones.
In addition, the document expands two existing SEZs.
The existing special economic zone in the Kaluga region will include sites located in the Babyninsky municipal district. They plan to open three pharmaceutical production facilities there.
The Lipetsk SEZ will also be expanded to include a new territory in Lipetsk. There, on the site of a former tractor factory, it is planned to create the production of agricultural machinery and trailers, while all the necessary infrastructure already exists.
Special economic zones are created for the development of the manufacturing industry, high-tech industries, tourism and port infrastructure. Placing in a SEZ gives a business a number of advantages. Thus, residents can enjoy tax benefits and customs preferences, and also count on reduced rental payments.
