
MOSCOW, March 9 The Russians' festive table for Maslenitsa has hardly risen in price over the year and will cost an average of 1.5 thousand rubles, approximately a third of this amount will go to the traditional holiday additive — red caviar, and a fifth — for strong alcohol, follows from estimates by the Association of Food Manufacturers and Suppliers provided by.
The calculations used data from Rosstat and the association’s analyst; the period from February 26 to March 3 in 2023 and 2024 was assessed. The festive treat for a family of four includes pancakes, caviar, butter, sour cream, honey, bread, half-smoked sausage, cheese and vodka.
“The cost of a festive feast this year will be 1,533.3 rubles compared to 1,495 rubles a year earlier,” the association calculated. And preparing the key dish of the festive table — pancakes — will cost 106 rubles (a year earlier — 88.6 rubles). The recipe used as a basis contains 130 grams of wheat flour, 300 milliliters of milk, three eggs, 30 grams of sugar, 40 grams of butter.
Cost leaders
Calculations have shown that caviar takes up a third of the cost of the festive table: this year, 95 grams of the delicacy is valued at 562.6 rubles, in 2023 — 3.3% higher, at 581.9 rubles. In second place is vodka: spending on strong alcohol increased by 4%, to 357.7 rubles per half liter (a year ago — 343.9 rubles).
Cheese and sausage share third and fourth place in terms of share of expenses: buying 200 grams of cheese will cost 156.5 rubles, the same amount of sausage will cost 130.2 rubles (previously 153. 6 rubles and 118.9 rubles). And a portion of bread of 300 grams — for example, for a sandwich: 23.3 rubles this year and 21.1 rubles in the past.
The cost of 100 grams of honey is 56.6 rubles (plus 7.2% of last year’s figure), 180 grams of sour cream — 51.8 rubles (plus 2.4%), 100 grams of butter — 88.6 rubles (plus 6%).
Maslenitsa week this year will last from March 11 to 17.
