MOSCOW, March 10, Oleg Bogatov. Honored coach of the USSR in Figure skating Tatyana Tarasova said that the jury members absolutely objectively and honestly assessed the programs of all participants in the Russian Challenge show program tournament, which took place on Saturday in St. Petersburg.
The winner of the competition was 2002 Olympic champion Alexey Yagudin, who scored 12 points. Second place went to 2015 world champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva (10). The third position was shared by the 2000 world champions in pair skating Maria Petrova/Alexei Tikhonov, the 2009 world champions in ice dancing Oksana Domnina/Maxim Shabalin, as well as the winner of the Russian Grand Prix stage of this season Ksenia Sinitsyna (4 each).
“»I completely agree with all the assessments of the jury. I think that it was a wonderful show in which each athlete demonstrated what they can. And the idea of organizing the “Russian Challenge” was very good, because it shows the capabilities of each skater. We know them all, but we don't see their full potential. And in this show we saw everything that they are capable of. This is a very important competition. I'm very happy that the audience completely filled the arena, I haven't remembered that for a long time. And they were all delighted. I believe that the jury members assessed all the skaters’ compositions absolutely correctly and honestly,” said Tarasova.
“I judged in exactly the same way, everything was fair in the distribution of places. I’m very glad that Lesha won. Because he really was the best,” added the agency’s interlocutor.
The jury included choreographer Yegor Druzhinin, ballet dancer Kimin Kim, actress Victoria Isakova, opera singer Aida Garifullina, choreographer Boris Eifman, theater and film actor Sergei Bezrukov, choreographer Alla Sigalova.
