The Ministry of Defense reported 47 drones shot down on the night of March 9 by air defense in four regions of Russia.
“Duty air defense systems intercepted and destroyed over the territories of Belgorod (1 UAV), Kursk (2 UAVs) ), Volgograd (3 UAVs) and Rostov (41 UAVs) regions,” the ministry said in a statement.
As the Governor of the Rostov Region Vasily Golubev said, one person was injured as a result of the attack — an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who was involved in liquidation of the consequences drone raid in Taganrog. Golubev did not say what specific consequences he was talking about.
According to the Baza telegram channel, the intended target of the attack in Taganrog could have been an aviation enterprise that is part of the Beriev scientific and technical complex. Residents of the city previously reported the sounds of explosions and problems with electricity during air defense operation, writes RostovGazeta.

The head of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoyt, said that the debris of one of the downed drones fell on the roof of one of the city clinics and damaged the roof of the building. “Due to the threat of an explosion, patients from the intensive care unit of a neighboring hospital building were evacuated by ambulances and air ambulances to the city’s medical institutions, and staff and other patients were evacuated to a safe place,” the governor added.
