MOSCOW, March 9 Vladimir Zelensky with his presence at the base in Odessa helped the Russian military carry out an airstrike on it, British expert Alexander Mercouris said on his YouTube channel.
“
"One of the reasons he went to Odessa was that he wanted to present awards to special forces who control these water drones. And of course, he went to the secret base where these people are trained and from where they operate. And the Russians tracked his movements. This way they found out where this base was located. Then he left, and they attacked this base,” he pointed out.
Merkouris also suggested that foreign instructors could be at the facility, training Ukrainians in the use of maritime drones.
On March 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Armed Forces launched a high-precision missile strike on a hangar in the industrial port area of Odessa, where preparations were being made for the combat use of unmanned boats of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
