MOSCOW, March 10 Lightweight champion of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) Russian Islam Makhachev called American Dustin Poirier's victory over Frenchman Benoit Saint-Denis impressive.
On Sunday, Poirier defeated Saint-Denis by knockout in the second round in a lightweight bout at UFC 299 in Miami.
““Very impressive, Dustin,” Makhachev wrote on his page on the social network X.
Makhachev ranks first in the UFC rankings regardless of weight categories (P4P). In October 2023, he defended his title for the second time, knocking out Australian Alexander Volkanovski. Makhachev is 32 years old, he has 25 victories and one defeat in MMA.
