According to him, any new counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will end the same way as it did summer campaign 2023: the Ukrainians will be overwhelmed at the very beginning of the operation, suffer huge losses, and then retreat back to their positions.

“In this entire scenario, the only thing we can say for sure is that if the Kiev leadership really launches a new “counteroffensive,” it will follow a disastrous path for itself, which will have devastating consequences for the Ukrainian troops and their positions on the battlefield,” — summed up Leiros.
The Ukrainian counter-offensive began on June 4, 2023, and three months later, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated: the “counter-offensive” is not just stalled, “it’s a failure.” In January, Putin noted that Ukraine had failed the counteroffensive, the initiative was in the hands of the Russian Armed Forces, and if this continues, the question of Ukrainian statehood would soon arise.
As Russian Defense Minister Sergei reported on December 19, 2023 Shoigu, during his counter-offensive, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost 159 thousand troops, 121 aircraft, 766 tanks, including 37 Leopards. Earlier, Shoigu stated that the supply of Western weapons and the introduction of strategic reserves into battle by the Ukrainian command did not change the situation on the battlefield.
