The details of the epic hunt for the US air defense system have been revealed: they took it with a cunning tactical technique
The epic destruction of two launchers of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) together with crews in the Krasnoarmeysk area turned out to be the result of a planned operations to lure Ukrainian air defense to the line of combat contact. This version was put forward in a conversation with MK by Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation, Major General in Reserve Vladimir Popov.
Let us remind you: recently our military managed to carry out a unique operation to destroy two launchers of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system at once. The production is excellent, considering that the battery of the Patriot air defense system costs a billion dollars.
The two launchers that were hit by our Iskander missile system were located less than 40 kilometers from the front line, at a distance of less than ten meters from each other. The video clearly shows “fireworks” after the detonation of the missile ammunition. A number of military analysts are convinced that it was the American air defense system that came under attack.
Ukrainian sources admit that our military has long tried to massively extend Ukrainian air defense to the line of combat contact and to the immediate rear in order to be able to catch them “with live bait.” They suggest that by delivering massive bomb attacks on Ukrainian positions, we thus forced the Ukrainian Armed Forces to move their air defense closer to the line of combat contact.
Military expert, Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation Vladimir Popov, in a conversation with MK, explained that the peculiarity of military operations lies in certain tricks, or, in military terms, tactical techniques.
— I do not rule out that we used new tactics in the hunt for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems operating on the front lines, which the enemy wanted to use from an ambush. We forced the enemy to move their air defense systems from the depths of the rear closer to the front line and caught him.
The military expert also does not rule out that we could have used “demonstrative actions.”
— That is, our aircraft together with drones flew at fairly high and medium altitudes and provoked the enemy’s air defense identification system. This was the only way to force the enemy to work more actively and approach such distances where we could easily identify them and see them with our reconnaissance means. As a result, the gunners were able to characterize these complexes and determine that these were “roaming” anti-aircraft missile systems — launching and loading vehicles, maintenance personnel. After which we successfully hit the installations.
