Mercedes-Benz is expanding the range of the current E-Class: a plug-in hybrid top version of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid is presented 4Matic+ in sedan and station wagon body styles. The maximum total output of the hybrid power plant is 612 hp, the maximum electric range is 101 km.
The new generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class W214/S214 debuted in the spring of last year, in the fall its range has been replenished with a cross-wagon and an extended sedan for the Chinese market, and today a sports version of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ is presented.

The power plant of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ is based on an upgraded in-line petrol turbo-six M256 with a displacement of 2999 cm3; its power has increased by 14 hp with the change in model generation. up to 449 hp, including due to the installation of a new dual-flow turbocharger with increased excess pressure (from 1.1 bar to 1.5 bar), an improved cooling system and a new control program.
The only electric motor (163 hp, 480 Nm) is built into the 9-speed automatic transmission AMG Speedshift TCT 9G, the maximum output of the power plant is 585 hp. and 750 Nm, but in Race Start mode (included in the AMG Dynamic Plus package) peak power briefly reaches 612 hp. 4Matic+ all-wheel drive with power take-off to the front axle is standard on the hybrid. The sedan with the AMG Dynamic Plus package reaches the first hundred in 3.8 s, the station wagon in 3.9 s, the top speed is 280 km/h and 275 km/h, respectively.

The 400-volt traction battery is located under the trunk floor, its nominal capacity is 28.6 kWh, the consumer-available capacity is 21.22 kWh. The maximum speed when driving on electric power is limited to 140 km/h. The maximum electric range for the sedan is 101 km according to the WLTP cycle, for the station wagon it is 97 km. The maximum charging power of the battery is 60 kW; you can top it up from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes.

Other features of the sports hybrid include a more rigid body with several added reinforcements, including a cross brace under the hood, flared front fenders (+11 mm on each side), a checkered grille, aggressive bumper designs and honest exhaust pipes. Standard wheels are 19-, 20- or 21-inch. Standard equipment includes a sports spring suspension with adaptive shock absorbers, a fully controlled chassis and drilled disc brakes: front brake discs are 370 mm in diameter (four-piston fixed calipers), rear brake discs are 360 mm in diameter (single-piston floating calipers).
< p>The interior is equipped with electrically adjustable front sports seats by default. A separate display for the front passenger on the dashboard is available as an option.

The aforementioned AMG Dynamic Plus package in addition to the Race Start mode, it includes larger front brakes with a diameter of 390 mm with six-piston fixed calipers, red brake calipers, a locking rear differential, active mounts for the gasoline engine, a sports steering wheel with nappa and carbon fiber trim.
The new Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ will go on sale in the coming months, prices have not yet been announced.
