BRUSSELS, March 11 An EU representative, in response to a question about possible sanctions against agricultural products from the Russian Federation and Belarus, said that the European Commission is monitoring the situation on the markets , will make a decision if necessary.
“»The European Commission constantly monitors the flow of agricultural products into the EU, not only from Russia and Belarus, we are studying the impact of such supplies both on our farmers and agricultural producers, and on the world market as a whole… If there is such a need, we will consider specific steps,» said EC spokesman Olof Gill.
Previously, the Polish authorities stated that they would study the experience of Latvia, where the parliament introduced amendments to the law on rural development and agriculture, banning the import of agricultural products from Russia and Belarus.
