The Moscow City Court considered the appeal in the case of actionist Pavel Krisevich and approved the sentence — five years in a general regime colony, a listener from the court told Mediazona.
Only lawyer Leonid was allowed into the hall where the hearing was held Solovyov and several journalists who came to support Pavel Krisevich were sent to the broadcast room, where a significant part of the meeting was broadcast without sound.
Before the hearing of the appeal began, Krisevich asked to postpone the meeting so that he “had the opportunity to participate in the elections.” The court did not grant the request.
On September 27, 2023, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow sentenced Pavel Krisevich to five years in prison. A year before, the same court had already passed a similar sentence on Krisevich, but then this decision was overturned and the case was sent for further investigation.
Krisevich was charged with hooliganism with the use of a weapon (Article 213 of the Criminal Code) for an action in June 2021, during during which he fired noise cartridges twice into the air on Red Square, and then pointed the muzzle of the empty pistol at himself.
According to Krisevich himself, this action was a protest against political repression in Russia. Before the shot, he read out a manifesto ending with the words: “We will respond to force and repression with fearlessness. After all, there will be no more fear. Shots will follow in front of the Kremlin curtain. span class=»mz-publish-context-cite__text_meta»>ArticleAgainst the fear of the state, the fear of heaven and the fear of the “inner beast of man.” The court sentenced actionist Krisevich to 5 years in prison for firing shots on Red Square
During the debate, Krisevich insisted that the pistol he used for the protest cannot be considered a weapon: “Please take into account that the means for giving a signal R- 411 is not a weapon, is on free sale from the age of 18 and in the practice of Moscow courts for hooliganism is not classified as a weapon. It’s like a shot at a running competition does not become a reason to initiate a criminal case — it’s a signal to start.”
